Moscow court fines Meta 4 mln rbl for non-deletion of banned info
MOSCOW, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- The magistrate court of the Tagansky District of Moscow has fined Meta Platforms, which is banned in Russia as an extremist company, 4 million rubles for non-deletion of banned content, a court spokesperson told PRIME on Tuesday.
The case was opened for the content promoting non-traditional sexual values on Meta Platforms’ social networks Facebook and Instagram, which are also banned in the country as extremist ones.
Since the beginning of 2021, the foreign companies that own popular social networks have been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for non-deletion of prohibited content.
